The hard truth about finding purpose is most people never do.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, but the truth is, most people never find their true purpose in life. We all get lost at some point. Some of us seem to wander more than others, feeling aimless and uncertain about what we should be doing. I’ve been there, and I know many of you have too.

One of the most common purposes people find is to have kids. Seeing them grow into better humans, watching them navigate the world and make their own way, is a goal many hold onto. It gives people a reason to wake up every morning and push through the tough times. There’s something incredibly solid about that purpose. It’s tangible and meaningful.

But what about those of us who don’t have that anchor? What happens when we don’t have a clear purpose guiding us? It’s easy to fall into a slump. Without a goal to strive for, without something to aim for, life can feel pretty bleak. Depression often creeps in when there’s no sense of direction or purpose. I’ve seen it happen to friends and loved ones, and it’s heartbreaking.

Then there’s the other side of the coin: the overachievers.

We often think that once we achieve something significant, we’ll feel fulfilled. But the reality is that overachievers can fall into a similar trap…
