My Skincare Journey as a Man.

To begin with — I am not a model. I do not work in the entertainment or fashion industry. But it’s about damn time all men embrace a skincare routine.

I’m writing this not just as a guide, but as a personal story about my journey with skincare — a topic often reserved for women, but here I am, a man in my 20s, breaking that mold.

It all started when I switched jobs. I left a toxic work environment, but the stress didn’t leave me. I was constantly eating out, not exercising enough, and generally neglecting my well-being. This lifestyle took a toll on my skin. The result? A severe acne breakout that was a wake-up call.

As someone who loves running, I never thought much about the damage the sun could do. I rarely, if ever, wore sunscreen. This was a colossal mistake. Gradually, my skin tone changed — it became noticeably darker than the rest of my body. So much so, that my swimming instructor pointed it out. That was a bit of an embarrassing moment, but it taught me a crucial lesson: sunscreen is non-negotiable.

Navigating the world of skincare is a bit like walking through a maze; it’s not one-size-fits-all. My journey involved a lot of trial and error to figure out what worked for my now medium-dusky skin. And after a series of hits and misses, I’ve settled on a routine that seems to be doing the trick.
