Men compartmentalize everything.
There is a moment when every boy or guy realizes nobody comes to save him, that’s when he becomes a man. Some never get there & stay children forever. The rest? They bear it or suffer willingly. That’s when they learn to compartmentalize everything.
I usually never write something like this because it’s seen as a controversial write-up where it could be seen as I’m favoring men over women. This is not about that, it’s about men’s mental health.
The age-adjusted suicide rate in 2021 was 14.04 per 100,000 individuals. In 2021, men died by suicide 3.90x more than women.
Men rarely talk about their feelings, not because they are told not to, but eventually, they realize that rarely anyone cares. Unless you add any value to society, are a caregiver to a family, or are obscenely rich, men are not seen as valuable. Probably valuable is a wrong word to use, they’re not treated with compassion or empathy like any human should be receiving.
Men cannot call anyone after a tragedy, loss, or heartbreak. Nobody’s going to come over to their house with pizza, wine, or peanut butter to comfort them. Men just don’t function that way, they can if society were more…
