I’m envious of the couples who found each other when they had nothing.

Walking through the bustling streets of New York City, I often find myself enveloped in a whirlwind of emotions. Amid the chaos, my eyes are invariably drawn to couples, lost in their world, a striking contrast to the city’s relentless pace. It’s in these moments, observing their ease and intimacy, that I am struck by a wave of envy.

I live and work around NYC, a place known for its grandeur and relentless ambition. Yet, amidst this, I see love stories that remind me of what truly matters. Some of my friends now settled and content, found each other when they had next to nothing. This ignites a deep sense of jealousy in me. Finding someone to share your life with is challenging enough, but it seems even more daunting when you’re trying to do so with achievements and status already in place.

This envy stems not from material desires but from a longing for that raw, unadulterated connection that thrives in the most modest of settings.
I often ponder the strength of relationships born in life’s humblest moments. These couples weren’t drawn together by wealth or status but by something far more potent — the magnetic pull of their hearts.
