Years back in school, I had the biggest crush on a girl. The only reason I attended school was her. One day, our teacher reminded us to submit a certain amount of $$ for a project that she had told us to bring a week back. It wasn’t a lot, would be around $5 or something. I saw that my crush had forgotten and was visibly upset being the straight-A student she was.
I gathered up the courage to go and talk to her. She told me she had forgotten and didn’t have the money for it and not submitting it would result in a low grade.
I couldn’t let that happen now, could I?
This was my Steve Rogers moment.
Quickly checking my bag, I realized that I only had one-third of the required amount. Honestly, I didn’t give a dime about the project, more like any project. Now that I think, I find it funny how little I cared about anything in school. The one primary reason I managed to attend school was because of her. We all need to find a purpose, am I right or AM I RIGHT? She was my purpose.
I knew that some students who traveled to school by bus or lived far away usually received travel/lunch money from their parents. Many had enough to loan me, so I decided to borrow from them until I had the amount to give her. I might not be a straight-A student like her but was known/social enough to have my classmates lend me the amount. So all of my money and theirs combined, I collected the sum necessary in…
