Grief is like a shadow that follows love. When we lose someone we cherish, our world seems to crumble. The pain is a reflection of how much they meant to us. It’s a journey with no map and no right or wrong way to navigate. It’s unique to each person, like a fingerprint. Some days, it’s a quiet ache, a whisper in the back of our minds. Other times, it’s a storm, overwhelming and all-consuming.

Why does grief hurt so much? It’s because love doesn’t end with death. The bonds we form are strong, and unbreakable by time or distance. Love carves a place in our hearts, and when the source of that love is gone, it leaves a space. This space fills with memories, both happy and sad, reminding us of what we’ve lost. But it also keeps our connection to them alive.

Grief comes in waves. At first, these waves crash over us constantly, leaving us struggling to breathe. But with time, the waves become less frequent, though no less powerful when they hit. This is normal. It’s how we process loss. We learn to live with these waves, anticipating them, respecting their power, and finding ways to stay afloat.
