Excelling in something doesn’t necessarily mean you’re passionate about it.

Who would have thought that someone who aced every course would choose to drop out? Well, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Before you jump to conclusions, let me clarify: I already have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in engineering. But in 2021, I felt a pull towards something different, so I ventured into the world of medicine and became an EMT in New York State by 2022. It was a hectic period, balancing a full-time engineering job with EMT courses. I passed the state exam, but that was just the beginning of my journey.

The experience was enriching. Interacting with people, being on the front lines, and potentially saving lives — it was exhilarating yet demanding. The physical and mental toll was significant, but it felt like a worthy cause. The urge to do more, to learn and experiment more, was overwhelming. So, I enrolled in a higher-level medical program near my workplace. My expectations were modest, but I was open to the new experiences it would bring.
