Beyond Luxury, A Young Adult’s Reflection

In the journey of life, when one transitions from having little to acquiring wealth, there’s an unexpected realization: the feeling of ‘having’ never truly settles in. And then, some’ve always been cushioned by wealth, seemingly belonging to a different species altogether.

These individuals, often seen dancing in the glitzy clubs, pubs, and bars, seem untouched by the world’s chaos. As the world burns, they bask in the warmth of their privileged bubbles, barely noticing the flames. Why would they? Their weather is perpetually just right.

Ironically, many of these same individuals champion ‘wokeness’. They passionately discuss global causes, advocating for change. Yet, their actions often don’t align with their words. They host opulent fundraisers, seeking contributions from others, when they could single-handedly fund the very causes they promote. It’s a perplexing dance of optics over genuine commitment.

There’s a tendency among the ultra-rich to criticize figures like Elon Musk, labeling him as ‘greedy’. Yet, these are often the same individuals driving Teslas and investing in his ventures. It’s a glaring contradiction. Do they not understand the mechanics of markets and capitalism?

Regardless of personal opinions about Musk, one cannot deny his contributions. His eccentricities aside, he has arguably done more for our planet in recent years than many of his critics. While I may not always align with his methods or behaviors, I recognize that I’m not in a…
