Dear people of planet Earth,
I am filled with awe and wonder as I stand here on the red planet. The magnitude of this moment is not lost on me. I stand here not as an individual but as a representative of all humanity. Together, we have made history. We have pushed the boundaries of what is possible, and we have achieved what was once thought to be impossible.
We are a species of innovation and engineering, constantly seeking to understand and explore the world around us. And in this pursuit, we have faced losses and sacrifices. We have mourned the astronauts that we have lost in the past, and we honor their bravery and their commitment to our shared mission. But we have also persevered. We have faced adversity and overcome it. I & my fellow crew-mates have left our families and loved ones behind on this journey, but we have done so with a sense of purpose and a determination to forge a new path for humanity.
Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants. We are the beneficiaries of the work and sacrifice of countless people who have come before us. Engineers, researchers, scientists, and many others have dedicated their lives to this dream of becoming a multi-planetary species.
